Update

At this time, blogging is proving a bit time consuming for me! plus, I'm in the works of revamping this site so the pictures are a bit larger.

i call this dog two socks. from dances with wolves. he has a completely different name, but i'm pretending it's two socks.

this is the most fun thing ever. i got tired of pulling and swinging my bulky nikon bag around, and settled instead for a shoot sac. invented by a photographer, it is made of neoprene (wet suit material) and has pockets for lenses. it stays strapped to you while you move to get your best shots. so clever!

it's cold and gray, and all i can think about is sitting in a field of queen anne's lace with the sun warming my skin...how long until spring?

behind the photo: dogs

some of my most recent clients have been for pet photography. i thought i would share two of my favorite images- one of an english lab and one of two goldens. now, i love photographing pets, especially dogs, but how do you get these playful, mischievous little (well, big really) animals to sit still and look pretty? tummy rubs? sure. tennis balls? absolutely. those work for about ten seconds until one of the goldens rips the meticulously tied ribbon from around the other's neck and plays keep away with my expensive pottery barn ribbon. i have another word: nutro treats! you would have thought that i had given them [insert favorite food here] for dogs. shaped like a toothbrush, i had their attention...at least for a full minute.

mitch hedberg's quote "do you love toast?" really was asked to me. indeed, i do love toast. with jam. with butter. with lavender honey. with nutella and bananas. with marscapone cheese and strawberries! it is a platform from which i can create everything from the prettily ho-hum to dr. seuss outlandish. butter my bread upside-down you say? done! this is same way i feel about my camera. it is my way of capturing metaphors, paradoxes, and wonderful things to look at it. it is my mirror of the world.

i have great ideas. crazy ideas. unique ideas. and i can also tackle your ideas. my style is clean, fresh, and whimsical. give me a job and you'll see what i mean. i'd like to meet you!
